About department

The Solo Voice department and the study progam that supports it are closely connected to the great singing tradition and generally to the accentuated singing characteristics of Split and Dalmatia. This is shown in the natural wealth of the predisposition to sing from which results all the foregrounded melodic characteristics of the musical heritage of the Dalmatian region, as well as the rich operatic tradition of the city of Split, which is concentrated around the Croatian National Theater and Split Summer Fesitval. The constant connection of professors and department students with these institutions contributes to the credibility of the execution of the study program, which, on the one hand, is adjustable, while on the other it influences positive changes in “live” singing practice. The curriculum can also be said to include the regular participation of renowned guest lecturers who hold workshops and seminars, and the department is also the generator and initiator of all major music-stage projects at the Arts Academy.

Undergraduate Study Program

  • Duration: 8 semesters, 240 ECTS
  • Entry Requirements: passing the State Graduation Exam (Level B) and passing the entrance examination

Graduate Study Program

  • Duration: 2 semesters, 60 ECTS
  • Entry Requirements: completed 8-semester undergraduate study program
  • Acquired title: Master’s Degree in Music
