Reflections
It took some time for each one of use to get to know the groups mentality and one another, especially because most of us didn't know each other from before. However, in day 2 we were already working as a team in which morning people would have been more engaged on the beginning of the working day, and the night owls would wake up somewhere after lunch break, finishing the work that had to be done that day. Everyone contributed to the project with its own benefits. There were moments when we were just lost and didn't know how to proceed, but just explaining our problems to our mentors led us back to the ideas and solutions. All in all, we experienced how it is to work in a group of people where everyone has their own ideas and affiliations. The graphic designers were so happy to design the print for the plastic bag, while the video projections on the wall sounded just great to the 'movie makers'. At the end we all got used to compromising and deciding together democratically with voting for each direction or idea.
Some of us live in other parts of Croatia so another reflection on the whole workshop is about the city of Split. We got to know it beneath the surface in only five days time. All three groups focused on places and people common to Split through the observations and research required by the project. Happily we grew to understand it much better than if we had merely visited the city where a workshop was held.
