Prototyping

To build a prototype, it was required:

System of recording and reproducing sound, wisely integrated into the site to mediate sounds of children activity
Sensory field connected to lightening system to mediate places of children activity

The requirement was reduced to:

Microphone integrated into a silver tube - that represented a "caterpillar". That material was chosen due to its flexibility and catchy appearance. "Caterpillar" was rooted into the sand, and microphone was put inside it and connected to the laptop. Sounds were recorded and then manually translated to a MP3 player with loudspeakers.
Small led lights, covered with plastic cups - buried in the sand that represented illumination of the beach at night.
