Reflections
The design process went pretty smoothly for us due to the great guidance of the workshop leaders and the plan that was laid out for us which we followed nicely. We think that the most important thing we learned was to communicate with each other, we realized that some times we all where thinking the same thing but where communicating it in very different ways, and we resolved those issues by being patient and by allowing each member of the team speak his or her mind. The other thing that was very educational was the designs process it self, all the steps we had to take to reach the goals we wanted to reach.
We think we managed to go trough our goals pretty well. Particularly the test we did with the kids where we managed to do exactly what we wanted. The sounds where not installed in the blue hooks, but by playing the recordings back to the kids via a speaker hidden in the bush overhead we managed to simulate what would it be like if the kids realized they can play back their recording by hanging something on the blue hooks.
On the other hand the night test didn't quite go as we expected it would, but never the less, we definitely got a reaction from the people that where there.
In the end we feel that we could get the desired effect with a few modifications.
We learn a lot about the design process that was new to all of us, and about working in a team. We manage to make all of our decisions together and it was very fulfilling experience.
